Test on another device and always ensure you’re using Ethernet to test with also.

I can't stress this enough. Telstra + Opticomm fibre have only just released 1000mbps/50mbps profiles over here (previously on 250mbps/25mbps). I had a Ethernet over Power as the ONT is in a really poor place. The Ethernet over Power supports gigabit ethernet and in theory 2gpbs over power lines.

Didn't notice any issues when on the slower profile however noticed that I was maxing out at 300mbps/50mbps after the profile upgrade. Put in a 30 meter ethernet cable and now I'm at 950mbps/50mbps over ethernet. I did some speed testing on Wifi in various rooms and found that it was maxing out at 600mbps/50mbps.

@watchthisspace very heavy? Many do over 1tb per month now. I do over 15tb most months. 600gb is light use really and 2degrees don’t throttle 😊

15Tb ? I'm definitely a lightweight then!

Good suggestion in regards to Ethernet, so far my Ethernet connection is the slowest down, but highest up:

Asus G14 (2021 model with MediaTek WiFi)

my network layout is pretty flat

Please use our 2degrees speedtest servers on Ookla or https://linetest.nz for any testing if possible.

Could see the issue repeat again tonight and as a result added additional backhaul capacity. Please let me know tomorrow night if there is any further issues.

Suspect it goes via a peer in AKL or SYD, anyone know the IP address of their server to check?

While it is easy to get, PM'd.

Just FYI - I suspect there is some other oddities going on with 2degrees routes especially around AKL-IX + IPv6. I've PM'd you on that too.

I haven't noticed any UFB throughput issues within our 2degrees network in the Christchurch region since we added additional capacity.
How did everything go for you Christchurch members last night (Monday, 03/05)?

Happy to say I noticed no dropouts since the 2nd of June:

Tonight's speed tests from 2Degrees in Christchurch.

What is going on with Spark ping and upload?  2Degrees Sydney is better than Spark Christchurch.

Spark customers appear to be consuming alot of CDN traffic from our network since Saturday, as a result it's congesting some inter-network links. It's not a fault on our network, but, it is a concern of ours and it has been flagged internally.

This will not have any effect on 2degrees customers accessing our CDN caches.

Getting constant issues with 2dg Fibre in Auckland as well and I'm close to the end of my tether.

Speed is fine but random websites constantly timing out for a few minutes and then suddenly work. Netflix and TVNZ failing to load for an hour two and then come back. Speed test seems fine though. Tried playing around with router, different switches etc. Is anybody experiencing these issues?

Latest speedtest results on 2Degrees in Christchurch.

Download speed to local 2Degrees is terrible and ping is very high. I used to have 3ms ping and 900/500 speeds.
