@davidcole @kiwifidget I have lodged a complaint with the TDR and they are very interested in this

Data sharing the way it worked before the recent change was one of the reasons I stayed on Pay Monthly and stayed with 2degrees

So when did "fighting for fair" stop meaning anything?

I just bought a new portable hotspot, and now its practically useless.

Carryover data can be shared as long you (the person doing the sharing) have an active postpay plan. I also confirmed with the BSS team this morning that in the new system it will honour a request to set sharing to someone even if that person is already sharing from someone else.

@SaltyNZ that is great to hear and thank you for speaking to the BSS team but I have an active postpay plan and can't setup sharing the same as I did just a few weeks ago, I can't share carryover data like I use to and have done so for years.

So do we have an unknown fault at play here that needs to be looked into?

I have tried to log a fault yesterday but the call centre refused to log one

All the best getting wider resolution on this @Linux, your understanding matches mine on being able to share carryover

What is an active postpay plan?

Is that the same as Pay Monthly?

so my wife’s plan is still active. Her account shows 10gb of plan Dana and 31ish gb of carry over.

My son used 7.2 in july (something we shall remedy). But since Thursday when he’s out of the house he has no data at all.

that’s seems to be at odds with how @saltynz reports it should be working.

I am also having challenges understanding the current rules vs what is on the website for 2degrees data sharing. When I was last with 2degrees you could share carryover data and setting the data sharing limit was not impacted by how much data you had on your current plan (not carry over data).

Now this seems to be more confusing, as after changing from recurring data sharing limit to open sharing, the data disappeared from my current plan.

When I called to ask, the CSR was going to check with technical staff (I think?) and call me back, but they didn’t. I did notice a week later, a chunk of the data that disappeared from my current plan suddenly appeared as carryover data despite still being in my current billing month. I’m not exactly sure if this the outcome of the call or if this was the system allocating back the unused data sharing limit?

I’ve just set open data sharing for all until there is more clarity.

ETA: Tidying up a sentence to be more clear and also to add one of the reasons why I switched back to 2degrees was the data sharing feature, so I will be interested to see how this pans out.

Probably best if you all DM me details so we can look into them all as group.

I called 2degrees again yesterday afternoon and was told again that carryover data was never able to be shared since data sharing was launched and the staff member told me that there must of been a fault with only my account

I explained that I know a number of 2degrees customers that have had zero issues for years sharing carryover data - Faulty accounts as well

The staff member went on to say that he has never been able to share carryover data and it is in the terms and conditions - I asked this to be emailed to me but then it was it does not say you can share carryover data

Unrelated. The move to the new BSS system, where these rules are a bit different, has only just been completed (about 2 weeks ago).
