I know this would be a bit off topic. But yesterday my SIM card I ordered from T-Mobile UK arived. lol. I ordered 2 more today and 4 more from o2. the only way to do it though is when it asks for your zip code. enter NZ10 4PD and the rest of the info as you normally would (i.e country and street etc...) Just thought I should share it with you. :D

I assume you are talking about the sites to order the sim cards?

T-Mobile: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/free-pay-as-you-go-sim-cards/
Orange: http://freesim.orange.co.uk/

Orange are the best I think because you can order 4 at a time to "give to your friends" which is nice. T-Mobiles sim cards are cool too.

tmobile uk sim

Nice and simple, none of that stupid writing like vodafone.

Remember when ordering them to use the post code: NZ10 4PD so that the system thinks its in the UK Post code format. They arive reasonably fast too.

I have a friend who lives in the UK and I asked him to make one up for me that sounds like a normal post code, and it worked. And yes, the post code can be used for any area of new zealand. mine is usually 2103 but NZ Post still got it to my house just fine.

Another thing you can do with the T-Mobile SIMs, they roam on both Telecom XT and Vodafone. So you can register for stuff online that requirs a UK mobile number for verification because tmobile has no roaming charges to receive txts. Also, its free to call tmobile customer services, we get free sim cards and free support, i think i better show vodafone. :D.

enjoy your sims.

I just tried the process again, I found if you enter the number as +64211234567 , it says its invalid. It works fine however if you use 0211234567 for some reason. What did you guys try?

I might start a new thread for this, but while you said this, i tried again. 0211234567 worked, but now its saying tht my post code is wrong.

MEEEH!

On topic;

I wonder how long 2Degrees' numbers are going to be initially.

I used my valid tesco internet phone number... which was free as well.. But it looks like this is the wakeup call for the other telcos as far as sim pricing is finally in nz which is good to see.

I hope the free credit remains if a number is ported over. I have a few bucks left and then the IOU on my remaining vodafone - if I can port that over to 2degrees and have the 5 bucks the sim comes with I will be happy... hmm, 11 days till the 6th of august. I hope my sims here before then

I tried it all again, its been working fine if I order sims with the numbers starting 021xxxxxxx and the post code being NZ10 4PD. Keep trying I guess. and richms; you have a very valid point there, this is a wakeup call for both vodafone and telecom. Vodafone UK sells cheaper sims (not free of course.. its still vodafone). But yeh, 11 days, :D can barly wait. y'all have fun, let me know if you still have probs with signing up.
