What's going on? Has anyone managed to choose outside the 0220 range yet??

I'd like to know aswell, as people were saying that from launch (today) you would be able to...

I don't know how good my information is but I was just told by the 0800 that to avoid load on their number picking application, they are now not going to release other number ranges until a future unspecified time, and they may be "drip fed" into the system.

Not particularly happy that "10 million numbers" were promised but now we are being told something different. Just mean more and more waiting instead of using.

The customer rep i just talked to said it was cause there were "lots of people" trying to change their number... but I don't think thats the problem. Ive tried many times through the night and it hasn't been working.

And now you can't log into 'Your 2degrees'

Of course there are "lots of people".

They essentially promised 10 million number choices so this drip feed is annoying.

That's because there's a known problem and they are working on it. I don't see reason for "lol"...

Ohhh I had a thought that maybe they were adding some new number prefixs, didn't know there was an actual issue. And putting lol at the end is just a bad habbit :)

If they're now drip-feeding numbers rather than adhering to their original commitment, that's not a good look.

In fact there may be a fair trading issue since early adopters may have adopted early specifically to nab the number of their choice at launch. Now it seems they can't.

I'm not impressed, but just reporting what I was told. Hope it isn't true but they asked for my details and pledged to contact me when they released particular number ranges, which suggests some element of truth unfortunately.

Agreed that this is not a good look. I set time aside to pick a number and now that time is wasted, and I will have to wait and waste more time while waiting.

Your actually lucky then, when I rung up about getting my homeline number, I was told the change could be done manually, but it is time consuming, so he said it would be easier for him and quicker for me, if I do it online. I said well the number I want is not showing up (only 0220 is), his suggestion was to just log into the site every now and then and hope one day it shows up.

On mobile broadband, every time I log in, check if the number is available, then log out takes ~5MB of data. At 30MB quota a day its a huge waste of my resources, and time. If there was a way for them to contact me when the range was available that would be great, or even better if it could be done manually as the customer rep told me it could be done.

Just checked back on http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/news
and there is a release there making it pretty clear that the entire number range would be available from launch.

I just spoke to their helpdesk, 2Degrees are allowing the complete number range from today (the restriction on 0220... as just for yesterday).

Their website is being hammered, the CSR told me to try again in an hour - their techs are working on it now to fix as we speak.  He was unable to make the change over the phone.
