I'm wondering why there is not more pole sharing. Seeing all parties agreed to it.

Zeon made a good point earlier on, but I think it might have been lost in the noise of the discussion. Fewer towers means that phones need to work harder to find a weak signal, thereby pumping more electromagnetic radiation into your brain. To maintain my health I'd prefer more towers, not less. I personally don't find them unattractive but then again, tower spotting is a hobby of mine, much to the bemusement of my wife. Is someone offering to build one 50 m from my house?

Well said, from a fellow Cellphone tower spotter..... I do wish these people would actually think about what they are saying, back it up with some understanding of how cell networks operate... i.e the more sites in a smaller area means less powerful sites, less power used on the handset which is better for everyone!

I for one wouldnt have an issue if a site was at the safe recommended living distance from my home, I can think of a bunch of other things that will cause me more harm than a cell site.

The little person suffers once again, my parents house value has just plummeted with outdoor living area dominated with mini sky tower, not to mention associated health risks, Yes,?potential buyers see health risks. Yes it could easily happen to you... no notification received from the council or 2 degrees by any residents in the immediate vacinity (Torbay), the tower is up where are screwed... Is this the Facist strategy of 2 degrees, we have no rights, it is compliant.. yet it affects the community, the property owner on which it is installed I asume would receive payment yet we have to live with it.

Actually Torbay/Longbay is one of the most difficult if not THE most difficult part of Auckland to adequately cover... IMO they need twice as many if not 3 times as many towers in that particular area. Its a deceivingly hilly area. Where coverage is perfect for one person round the next block or round the corner will have no signal. I've done a fair amount of drive testing (testing all 3 networks) in this area purely out of interest..after hearing from mates that live in the area the mixed and contasting service they experience.
Perhaps have more towers with less power...less power, less cancer right?

Fact no notification of installation given, no opportunity given to contact council before installation, no contact from council at all.
Fact devaluation of property, amount of potential buyers decreased.
Fact is these towers are popping up like acne breakouts.
Fact is no one is immune, unless of course you have imput on their location.
Fact is our rights have been negated.

Amount of potential buyers decreasing doesn't equate to devaluation of the property....

In fact usually the higher the value of the property the less potential buyers...

To make a statement that there has been "devaluation" of a property, generally people are directly referring to a QV (quotable value) valuation... To use the word losely just because you think the value has decreased and state it as a 'fact' is misleading to say the least.

I think they should integrate adsl2+ cabinets inside the cell tower boxes. Then people might not complain as much cause they are getting faster broadband, and it would save digging another hole for a cabnet
