This looks like it has some potential

When i look up my address on their site it says "Based on your address your better home bundle is..."

Its not what is posted above for being on their exchnages, looks like i won't be eligible :(

Slingshot have confirmed the NBR article is wrong and the 3news article is more correct. The unlimited plan does not depend on being in their LLU area, it is nationwide regardless of exchange.

Awesome new, i am very interested in this plan

I look forward to hearing more details on this and am interested to give the plan a go, i mean i was looking at moving to Slingshot anyway, what more reason do i need?

Heard from an insider...

- they are allocating 3x the bandwidth per user that Telecom did when it tried
- buying heaps of additional international capacity to cover this plan
- extra investment in caches
- available all customers, not just unbundled local loop
- no throttling, but voip/skype/streaming and web pages prioritised
- any unused bandwidth from the normal pool dynamically allocated to the unlimited group if needed
- existing customers can switch but will have to sign up for 24 months
- he sounded confident but nervous!

Sounds like it has potential to work, any idea on price range?

I love the idea of contracting Slingshot to provide unlimited internet services for 2 years, but then again I liked that idea with Telecom as well, but they got their clever lawyers to weasel out of that...

Good side is I can break the Telecom contract to bounce to the Slingshot contract. Any guesses how many months before the slingshot contract is canceled and I bounce to the new unlimited ISP :)

You arent on a Telecom Contract if you are on Big Time, you have not been since the letters were first sent. I just popped this is as I still see many asking how to break the contract, etc

I switched over to Slingshot so I could get out of my disconnection fee from Telecom. I emailed about the new Slingshot all you can eat plan, hopefully I'll get selected. I'll be happy if they have a fair usage plan and restrict people who do 400gb+ a month

I think you missed my tongue-firmly-in-cheek-point. I did have a contract with Telecom Broadband which I signed up for and moved from another ISP from so they could supply the Big Time service for 12 (or 24? Months.) Telecom broke that contract, and I was tongue in cheek making the point that the Slingshot has a similar contract period, and it seems the only people the contract helps is the ISP's - they can seem to get our of the agreement to supply said service for period of time because 'they misunderstood the vampires.'

My point was I would love to have Telecom be forced by contract to supply Big Time for the length of my contract period. :)

I wonder how long the Slingshot service will last, will we see a Super Big Time? Will TelstraClear ever peer again?

Who knows.
