SteveON: I am confused at this entire thread... Hasn't it always been common with other providers to cancel accounts that have not been topped up within 12 months? How dare you expect otherwise. This is a phone service, 99.9999% of customers will use their phones weekly...
It has become apparant that consumers of the day are never wrong. Perfect example here.
You dont get a letter if your WOF on your car is about to expire (or not that I have ever had) because it is down to you to keep an eye on it.

Your car doesn't get compacted once your WOF expires, bad analogy.
You can never have enough Volvos!
Niel: I've just noticed the auto top-up option, which tops you up if your account drops below $2.50. Presumably this will also top you up automatically after 12 months when your balance expires and thus keep your number alive (although loosing the expired balance).
alasta: So, I think it would be a brave assumption to think that an auto top-up would rescue you from losing your number if you don't proactively top up within a 12 month period.
