Oh right sorry, I didnt know it didn't do that in Auckland. I just assumed that it would make the phone feel as if it wasn't in range of a 2degrees tower, and automatically connect to vodafones as if it was roaming. Would it do this outside of Auckland? Or no?

If this "person" did come to 2degrees it would be good. He would have learnt his mistakes and be able make the network better!

Yes, you're right. Additionally, I am sure there were others who contributed to the network design, so it is unfair to place the blame squarely on just one particular individual.

I've been involved in a number of network roll-outs that whose reliability was compromised, because management made the call that the cost outweighed the risk. In some situations that paid off, but in others it didn't, but it was their call.
