It appears (rumoured) that 2 degrees has employed into a management position one of the people that was held responsible for the XT meltdown.

Could it be that they can’t afford experienced and capable staff?

If the rumour is true this guy would have gone cheap, this may aid cost to customer but come on 2 degrees people want a network without incompetent outages. At this point I would love to see 2 degrees succeed but if they keep loosing experienced staff and employing incompetent ones they will go down a path not seen since Woosh( I consider them history they may prove me wrong), as a veteran of the telecommunication industry if they play the game of engineering frugalness they will pay in the long run (that means you as a customer as well).

I would love to be a troll, it would imply that the information was media worthy or provoking response. But no I am only pointing out that we have a number of data or mobile providers that fail in providing the basics eg good service.

The fact we cant keep good engineers in NZ doesn?t help but to quantify that we encourage incompetence.

So your very first thread on GZ is to start with a rumour.

@JoeBob
On geekzone, if your first post is a rumor or "inside information" your credibility is weakened. As you haven't made a name for yourself we can't trust that your information is true.
Please keep this in mind.

JoeBob: I would love to be a troll, it would imply that the information was media worthy or provoking response.

Nope, a troll is someone who posts something just to get a heated response. Trolls' posts are not always media worthy - unless one think too much of himself.

As a unwritten rule, people will usually not believe any first time posters who come around here with crazy rumours, or stories that are not connected to reality.

Is this by the same person who was going on about 2degrees and the government conspiracy? Who cares... They are owned by the Chinese anyway!

Besides which even if the rumour is true, most people here are smart enough to realise that the XT problems were not the fault of an individual. Any blame laid on an individual can only constitute scape-goat(ism) - there always has to be a face associated with a problem, even if that problem is well beyond the scope of the person attached to the face.

I would even argue that the individual concerned may be all the better for having gone through the XT fiasco. Working through a crisis situation is often good for peoples' professional skills.
