These are Microwave sites, so may or may not necessarily be "future" cellsite locations since they could be bouncing a microwave link off an existing site. But you would assume these site's are coloates ;)

TNZ COLOCATE CAMERON ROAD (BOP-023-015-A)
VNZ COLOCATE PAPAMOA NORTH (BOP-023-018-B)

Time will tell.

The Telecom tower is a large old school microwave link site(dish removed many years ago) in Tauranga south a quite tall lattice structure. Telecom have a cell site at the very top(CDMA/WCDMA) and Vodafone have equipment half way up and at bottom(3G 2100). A logical 2degrees site for central avenues coverage.

The other site is a newer Vodafone tower with a mono pole design with a lattice extension at top. Vodafone gear at top with a decent gap below for other equipment.

I think I found the Telecom Tower.

And the Google Maps all sites shows the Vodafone 36279 site more accurately than the Telecom location 15700.

I've e-mailed RSM folks and ask them why they don't re-using their existing locationids so people (ie me) know when they have Co-located services.

Yeah thats the Telecom site, the Vodafone site is not on Google maps(pictures are too old).

When I drove past today I noticed that "cup" like feature at the bottom of the panels going around the mast, if I remember I'll try to get a better photo this weekend

IMHO the microwave dish mounts are very 2degrees-ish, with that many mounts its probably a minihub site linking to others so look out for multiple 3/600mm antennas. The main backhaul trans site for HN probably isnt built yet hence why no dish and not on air/integrated.
Was much talk back in the day of loosing the Argus panel antennas (like in WGTN/AKL/CHC) replacing with Kathrein panels, lower profile, taller, look more like VF because of this.

Saw some new stuff today, the tower above now has a microwave dish on it pointing to Waikato Hospital

The Vodafone site near me (Nawton GSM/UMTS2100) has new panels on it so I assume this is co-location:

Are you saying that those new and smaller panels are new? It seems odd that 2degrees would implement less gain/bandwidth than vodafone. Unless their new panels are that much better?

I'm not sure, I only noticed those new ones on the top when driving home yesterday (unless more are going up today)
They do look smaller than the other 2 sites I've seen but the Nawton one is only around 1km from the Forrest Lake site that has bigger panels on it

Hmm, seems to be all OK now. Well, I can access the 0.facebook.com over UMTS only now.

Just had another looks at the RSM database, the Ward St Hub (top of centre place tower) have got a registered frequency for GSM and UMTS2100, anyone able to find anything when doing a network scan?

Earlier in the week, up until thursday at least 3 mates had mobile data totally unusable on their U8150 IDEOS, it appears the problem is fixed now though. Will get more detail if they have issues.
