Am I imaging it or is the calendar app a new and improved version since the update?

Calendar build on the new version is V022R001C00B125

Can someone confirm the version on the old firmware?

Settings --> Applications --> Manage Appliacations --> All

Find your "Calendar" app listing and press it.
That's the version number he is referring to.

Is anyone still running the old B135 U8800 android version?
If so, what is the calender revision as per above instructions?

I went exactly where you said and still came up with the same build number. I hopefully have included a slightly blurry photo, but is does show the build number.

Yeah ive noticed it. Theyve made some of the icons green, and (i think) added a button which takes you back to the present. Also the gmail app now lets you choose your 'from' address if you have multiple outgoing mailboxes setup. It also adds support for priority inboxes and those imporant/not important tags. If you  Google android 2.2.1 and you can see some of little features that have been added.

Have you applied the X5 update from 2Degrees?
What does your build number say?

Has anyone noticed an improvement in Wifi stability post update as this was what I was hanging out for as it was pretty hopeless before, have to say I've not noticed anything changing?

My wifi quite often disconnects and when you look at the connections it has my SSID in there rememebered OK but disabled and it doesn't reconnect which was the problem prior to upgrade.

Have to say this issue alone is starting to make me question whether to persevere with the X5 or jump to another handset.

My build number is U8800V100R001C00B133SP15
In running services I see an online update line. Does the X5 download the update automatically ?

The X5 updates are automatic.

To install and enable the Wi-Fi hotpot capability on your IDEOS X5 firstly ensure you have at least 50% battery remaining then follow the below steps: -

* Select 'settings/About phone/Online update your phone will now display the available firmware update
* Select 'more info' then select update
* Your phone will now download the new software and prompt to either install now or install later
* Select the 'install now' option. Your phone will now reboot and start the upgrade process which will take approximately 5 minutes

Hope this helps.

Whilst it should be self explanatory fro X5 update, it might pay to note that people running modified/non 2D oem authorised software could expect problems with the OTA update?

I hear there is rumour of a Huawei authorised Gingerbread update later in the year, any word on whether or not 2D will jump on that bandwagon?

Anyone had issues using a Nokia headset with the X5. I usually keep my Original headset at home and an old Nokia one at work. Until I did the upgrade the Nokia 3.5mm headset worked fine, and the audio quality was much better than the supplied Ideos headset.

Since upgrading the firmware the audio is dreadful unless I press the microphone button which is a bit odd.

Tried a generic 3rd party headset in the 2degrees shop in Wellington today and it worked, so I'm more than a bit puzzled.
