I'm using a dns proxy, so if the primary dns fails, it looks up on the free xtra one and if that fails it uses opendns.
I have noticed a couple of times this month that the opendns was being used, so it helps a little.

MSN sometimes doesn't want to connect, the trouble shoot says Key ports (missing unavailable or what ever)

My slingshots still on slow.

Im not sure how having multiple DNS's will help you here.

Only once in the last 18 months have I had to change my DNS settings, and that is a completely different story :p
