I have a work number with spark. however, the IT team tells me that spark does not allow esims for corporate accounts. Hence, waiting for 2Degrees to offer esim so i can transition my personal number over to them.

Anyone have any updates on the matter?

@hasm341015 You will need to wait for official news from 2degrees, No point asking before hand, No staff member that is in the know is going to talk about it on a public forum

Been about a year since I was forced off 2degrees (been a customer since before launch) and onto Spark just so I can retain dual sim functions; I also got told Spark wouldn't let business accounts onto eSIM, so had to migrate my private number to Spark. Have heard stories of smaller customers convincing their Spark Rep to let them go onto eSIM, would seem it's not as easy to setup as for private so it's down to the individual reps if they want to put the effort in.

Looking forward to the day 2degrees catch up to the others and start supporting eSIM. Will be nice to be back on 2d again, much better service and value.

I think its a bit pointless asking this here. No one is going to tell you anything before an official release.

My feeling is we will see VoLTE before eSim. Given all the new iPhones support 5G I'd expect to see some movement in this space soon also.

Aye I'm starting to think they're not working on eSIM at the moment because all the devices with eSIM still have nano SIM slots, so why bother until its business critical? Eventually iPhones wont have nano SIM slots anymore, so it'll be business critical eventually. Really didn't expect both Vodafone AND Spark to beat 2degrees to it, but perhaps because they have larger chunks of the business market it makes sense for them to do so.

Welcome to 2021 folks! Thought it was time to do a check-in, any news or glimmers of hope regarding eSIM?

Hi All, 3 months on has there been any suggestion of any announcement from 2Degrees likely in near future?

(Have an iPhone 12 with 2D sim and need to get my work sim into it as well, don't testy want to go to Spark as I'll be paying more for less, and work sim is Digital Island so assume it's Spark network anyway for coverage).

TIA

I doubt they’ll do esim ahead of 5G
