Fred.. It's outside of our network. We are however, continuing to chase the problem.

I'd say before pulling the plug, try and inform yourself of some other isp's problems, seems that at this point international is a problem with most isp's.

RalphFromSnap: Hi Guys,

We are currently looking into an issue regarding peak time traffic. We hope to have a fix for this issue by the end of this week, this includes our Night Owls.

Cheers.

Hi Ralph,

any update on this? Too slow for youtube at the moment...

Thanks,
Mark

Are there any ISPs out there are not having international issues? Or are we faced with playing ISP roulette?

At this point the isp's with no international problems would be Telstraclear, Maxnet and Xtra i think

been a few days that I stayed away. not much has changed, there was an outage yesterday for 10 minutes and.. I just logged on here to say the net has been dead (420kb) slow for the past 20 minutes but the speed check just made shows it has improved. (1687kb)

but OHHHH Snap! Snap didn't remove my phone service from Orcon.. so *both* Orcon AND Snap have been expecting me to pay for line rental.

Snap is refunding me and the phone is now through them, I have been assured. Orcon, though this was an account drone, stated that I would not be able to keep the phone number and internet would be interrupted. Which is a pack of porkies. Again, it was stated by an accounting drone not a tech.

Fred

311 kbps just isn't good enough. What plan are you on? Have you recently switched? If it doesn't improve then it really does pay to give them a call and let them know what's happening.

Good luck,
Mark

I've just emailed support through a bunch of speedtests and traceroutes this morning as I'm currenty seeing 300kb/s to the US east coast and Europe. The west coast of the US and Japan we're seeing around 3Mb/s or so.
