Any non chrous users using this modem love to know your feedback with there none Nokia (Huawei ONT) which only negotiate at 10gig

I found this issue out as well. First got HyperFibre, the ORBI they send only does 1gbps out on each lan port (Has 10gbps WAN though, so it worked fine.).

The router I got to replace it which did 2.5gbps (I'm on the HF2 plan) I could not get working for the life of me, but yes the negotiation at 10gig only was the issue, I had to return that router after banging my head against the wall for weeks.

I have now got the new TP-Link device that OP mentions, and I was unable to get it to accept a connection from the ONT no matter what I did (Tested PPPoE with 2Deg supplied creds, DynamicIP, VLAN10, etc).

I was only able to get the new 2Deg TP-Link router to work by requesting my VLAN be untagged, which I was never notified was completed, but testing it today with untagged vlan seems to work.

Still only getting 1100mbps down, upload seems fine.

Will do some firmware updates and check over all the settings to see what else might help the download speeds increase.

Hello All

I am seeing a lot of positive feedback about this hyperfiber and tp-link

however for us, when we run speedtest, that is no different to our 300/100....

I am interested to know the sentences above, what you mean by VLAN be untagged? is it something that I need to look into at my tplink modem?

thanks

You see, your wire from the wall is so long, I even asked the chorus installer today, can it be a bit longer so that we can put on our table, he said nar, it is mean to be on the ground? but looking at this wire, so long.....

VLAN tagging is a configuration required by some (not all) ISPs. If you are connected, then don't worry about it.

If you have hyperfibre and not seeing speeds about 300/100 I would contact your ISP to ensure the account is setup correctly.

I would also check the entire internal network because wrong cables, wrong devices, switches, all can limit speeds (although consistent 300/100 sounds like your account is not set for hyperfibre).

Wifi speed looks typical for a 2.4 GHz channel. Test 5 GHz. Laptop most likely only has 1 Gbps wired Ethernet interface so looks about normal.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

You need a wifi card like ax210 or a wifi 7 card to get the speeds.. and lan you need a 2.5gig card for lan for hyperfibre 2.. and you need to tune your PC via tcp optimizer to get the speeds . Also run a speed test via your phone.. make sure the 5ghz 6ghz bands are enabled

It look like your network is not fit for hyperfibre yet.

this is exactly why I've not yet upgraded to WiFi 7 gear or upgraded to hyperfibre because my internal cabling (installed by the builder) is only CAT5.

Not just you, 99.9% of people haven't upgraded. The 5 GHz radios in my Ubiquiti Unifi U6-Pro (installed less than 2 years but out of warranty) failed at Xmas so am enjoying wifi life at 70/30, don't notice any difference. Previous UAP AC Pro developed same 5 GHz radio fault after 6 years.

I got 4gbit.

Ended up cf60 router, 2 degrees hb810 is my office switch ( microtek have a new one that looks interesting ).

10g PC card, 5g USB c for laptop.

The wifi is 4 deco units ( awaiting wifi 7 end to end ).

All Ethernet backfill, I can't get past 900mbit speedtest to the USA, 1.1gbit to oz, 4gbit NZ ( spark is the fastest I've found ).

Do I use 4gb, no, is there a perceived ( maybe just psychological) responsiveness improvement, yes, the real cost is the gear and I think early days past 1gbit, but it's cool to have.

I only use 8 TB/month, unless looking at consuming 10 times that there is no point at all.
