When is Orcon going to update the list with all the suggestions people have made over the last month?

I assume this is a joke . . . just because the suggestion was made doesn't mean it will be implemented

Not really. I wouldnt mind seeing an updated list either.

I say this, because surely they must have made changes to it recently, with all hte suggestions they have recieved from Geekzone and the other ones from their website?

So im sure some changes have been made, even though we know not all of them would be added.

Ok, probably worded badly. I meant the new sites that people have suggested (and been accepted by Orcon).

An updated list sure, the post implied that all the suggestions made were going to be implemented.

I suspect that some discussions and then agreements etc will be taking place with individual content providers / carriers before anything new can be added, this will take time.

Orcon won't add a whole lot of new sites and then not tell us about them, just be patient, it isn't the 23rd yet anyway :-)

Hi guys,

Just to clarify, the list as it stands is the list for launch, but we are already in discussions with a whole range of additional sites that have been suggested, and several that have got in touch with us directly.

We have actually been overwhelmed with the amount of suggestions that we have got, it has been really encouraging. We have read all your emails, and collated them into a big spreadsheet (at last count we had had more than 250 sites suggested, most of them multiple times). I will take us a while to get to talk to them all, and some of them just aren't realistic right now - e.g. YouTube. However we will be announcing additional sites over the months following the launch, so stay tuned for those.

I will make sure I publicise them here, and you can be sure that they will be prominently displayed on the Orcon site itself.

Thanks again for all your suggestions!

Its a web design company.
You want to read a web design companies sales pitch in the early hours of the morning and weekends? Its probably not worth it - looks like they use frontpage or publisher 2000 to design their websites from what I see in the gallery

What can I say, lack of experience shows.

Looks like something a 12 year old could do in frontpage.

PS: arent they a WEB DESIGN company?

I know this is an old topic but since I am considering moving to Orcon how about free traffic to an Orcon hosted repo of useful downloads etc. I'm not sure if Orcon use Akamai but if they do, offer free traffic from the Akamai cache?

O Zone data : I know there is an Orcon rep here...can you confirm that game servers on gamers.net.nz should have free traffic because I am a heavy gamer

Given that Orcon have definitely advised via Network Status that there is a data use reporting error

"30/05/09 5:51 pm Due to inconsistencies in data recording..blah blah blah"

So keeping in mind the above warning I am still worried that OZone data use has only been reported as 7Mb since the 23 May start date..which just cannot be true

Hope someone else has something to report on their O Zone use ( accurate? or not ? )

Yes, the gaming servers from gamers.net.nz is included in the O Zone.

The usage is displaying wrong at the moment (as per the message on the status page), but the issue has now been fixed - all data going forward is being counted correctly. You will see a negative data amount added to your usage stats over the next few days to reduce the amount that was 'over counted'.
