No, I think he means the Median (the number which half of all users send less than and half of all users send more than) which is not subject to the 'skewing' you mention.
Yes, I know what median means, but he said "median average" which doesn't really make sense, and I've never seen median TXT usage stats, only mean.
Just using the same terminology we used at high school :P
Specifically:
There are three (main) types of average.
Mean, median and mode.
I am referring to the median average, not the mean average nor the modal average.
(vblame my teacher if that is incorrect, but if you check here: http://www.andrews.edu/~calkins/math/webtexts/stat03.htm for 'average' you will see median and mode in that article)
I remember seeing a figure for median number of SMS sent but cannot for the life of me remember where it was. I'm pretty sure it was more than 2/day though.
