BreytenVT: Here I was, frustrated XNet customer waiting and waiting for Scott to release the much anticipated new nDSL plans... and on the 18th of November 2009, I made the call to the sales team and couldn’t wait to join the Slingshot experience!!!
Guess what I’ve been told today after 3 calls to Slingshot’s sales team...
Slingshot is not interested in my business... Well to be more precise, they can/will not transfer me from XNet Naked ADSL to Slingshot Naked ADSL because my line is already digital and they could “apparently” only transfer analogue lines to their network.
So I’ve been told the only way for me to join slingshot was to phone XNet and ask them to put me back and an analogue line. Sounds easy doesn’t it?!?! So I phoned Xnet...
But alas, XNet told me that I need to phone the likes of Telecom and request a new ADSL line/ installation and only then could they “downgrade” me to an analogue plan. Of course all of this would require some sort of installation/connection fee here and there.
So in short... Slingshot said I need to switch my digital line to analogue just for them to switch it back to digital!!! Is it only me or does that sound ridiculous?
So Scott, what do you suppose I do? I was EXTREMELY keen to join your new plan(s) but it seems that you guys are just NOT willing to come to the party? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

It can be done, just looks like there is some confusion.
The issue being, we have a lot of people contacting us to connect nDSL when they have no active services at all on the line. In that situation an active homeline is required.
Just signup online yourself and it should go through. PM me if it doesnt.
I'm going to update our website and inform the call centre of what that story is.

susri:
Hey people out there - I want to warn anyone thinking of moving your plan to slingshot.
For starters the customer service is pathetic and secondly be prepared to get billed even before your service commences !!
I signed up to their 'just Broadband plan' which is their NakedDSL plan. I had to contact their 0800 number at least 25 times before I could get my internet working. I had broadband and phone outage of three whole days. It took at least 20 of calls form me to get just the broadband going.
Now that the broadband is going I have to battle to get the italk (VoIP) service ported across. If you are signing to Slingshot for any plan, just be prepared to spend hours on the phone chasing on your case. I signed up for their plan on the 24th Nov, today being 7th of Dec and I still cant disconnect my old provider as they have not yet ported my phone lines. When I call them - at least on two occasions I was told by the call centre rep that I would have to select a new number for my res as they cannot port to my old number. When they say this (which I know is not correct), I just disconnect and try again hopeing that the next customer service rep is more informed about the plans they provide. This show the ignorance on the part of the people at the call centre. I've also noticed that they are not consistent with what they say so it is really hard to believe what they are saying.
And here is the icing on the cake - a bill arrived in my mailbox charging me for a service that has not yet commenced. When contacted they say that they bill in advance for any service they provide - but wait where is that service????
In all the whole experience of moving form xNet to Slingshot has bee really really painful and in the end I think it was not even worth the pain.
Here is the part of the BILL
