layzworm: New Years textmerace has begun and ends on the 7th of february. if you need some help getting your prize there are free j2me java applications for mobile phones that can send 100,s of 1000's of texts in a few days. just google java sms bomb. i notice google has removed all of these type of apps off the android app store but i managed to find one for android quite easily
mxpress: I think this whole test race thing is totally despicable and like, "Big Time", will result in the actions of a few spoiling it for all. If this is how 2 degrees chooses to promote their business, then I can only hope that another carrier does exactly the same to them. They would have no one to blame but themselves.

It just highlights the ridiculous MTR that is charged for access into another telcos network. Quite funny actually as telecom has started warning and blocking even txt5000/2500 sims.

I second what kingzzz69 said.
I don't think the intention is to promote 2degrees, it is simply to highlight to T.C. and V.F. how silly MTR rates are and to encourage negotiation to reduce or eliminating the rates.
I suspect V.F. and 2D may have already negotiated some kind of deal which is why V.F. doesn't seem to be as unhappy about the "promotion" as T.C.
As I said earlier, this tactic worked for Clear in the 90's to eliminate fixed line MTR rates.
