So what would enable Orcon and others to provide a guaranteed service, for it seems that Telecom are hiding behind a "best-effort-wholesale" veil?
How about requiring that wholesale services have a guaranteed service element? That should be the price a market-moving player pays for their dominant position.

So the 60.234.x.x was clearly better than the 121.98.0.x dns servers?
I'm not sure dns is the main problem... I did some tests last night and the dns response seemed o.k. I'm using wget to eliminate any browser issues and also because wget records the start and end times - not just the download speed. You can see in this example there were several timeouts and retries before the index file was downloaded.

We've been having the same problems since the 16th with international traffic and peak times. On Orcon@Home Bronze (Max/Max). Also does the second "Max" mean that we have max up? We are currently sitting on 15Mb down 600Kb up.

If I was you I would not be advertising the fact that you access sites that promote illegal downloads/copyright infringement on public forums like GeekZone.
According to orcon network status the connection with no data has been fixed and I am happy to confirm that all pages national and international load happily at peak time today and yesterday for me at very high speeds.
