Ok, so there are pin bonuses for how many pins you get too!

First pin seems to be 100mb ‘only you can see this one’ specially located right where you are to get you going.

3rd pin gets an extra 50mb bonus added
Wow, you've found your third data spot! We've added a bonus of 50MB to your account, keep hunting! 2degrees Data Hunt

10th pin gets gets 200mb extra
Wow, you've been to 10 spots! We've added a bonus 200MB to your account, keep hunting! 2degrees Data Hunt

Anyone reached enough for the next bonus point yet?

That sux! Are you sure? Their advertising clearly mentions the ability to play on a different number and port your data to your 2D account once you change over.

In the app (on my iPad) I was able to change the number (strongly warned it was a one time option) and fully expect it to port the data too. I only did this last night, so am expectantly waiting for the data to port over soon.

Separately, On the way to that 94, did you notice any other bonus point?

*edit - just checked the 2D app for the iPad account and can confirm the data has been added to the brand new SIM

Thanks for the detail. Guess that resetting the pin count is a good thing then as you’ll get the 3 & 10 pin bonuses again 😉

We’re there any other pin count bonuses though?

Not that I remember I was expecting another at 100 pins, I should of ported my number after 100 pins :(

FWIW after checking now, my iPad seems to have swapped out numbers and carried on regardless... shows all the pins we did prior, and all the data is 365 days as I made sure to get a ‘basic’ $9 combo first 👍

Sorry, that's our bad advising you on here that ALL customers would get 365 days. Just to reiterate only customers with an active Carryover Combo will get to keep their Data Hunt data for 365 days. Sorry for any confusion!

For clarity, you mean active for the whole 365 days right (well with the standard 14 days to renew if you don't have enough credit)? I.E. It's more or less like normal carryover data.

For me personally, the proximity to pin required to be in-range is set too close. I've stood outside the 2degrees store on Wellesley St, AKL where there is a pin, but GPS puts me in the middle of the road, and apparently, that's not close enough to redeem. And I'm not willing to stand out in the middle of that street! Quite frustrating.

When I used to play Ingress and Pokemon Go I found that often going to the other side of the street would help sometimes. I think the reflection the GPS signal gets from the buildings means sometimes it plots you on the wrong side of the streets (or worse somewhere else entirely!).

Yeah, you're right, probably more of an issue in a concrete jungle.

But why did they have to make the proximity required so close? If I'm within 10 metres (eg. app saying I'm in the middle of the road), you'd think that shows I still went to the effort of going there to redeem a pin and I should still be rewarded.

Off to parks and beaches to find pins for me then!

Has anyone managed to find any golden pins this time round? Biggest I've gotten so far has been 300 MB.

Where do you live that you can hit 100 pins already! (I’ll come visit your hood 😉) I’m on 29 pins after spending most of Saturday driving around in SWMBO’s Leaf and running into parks and malls to reach them...

On that note... I’m on 5.4Gb for 29 pins... haven’t you reached the 10Gb cap already? (Especially since you restarted the pin count but kept the prior data when you ported... 🤔)

SaltyNZ showed a gold on the first page, and SWMBO got her third pin as 500mb (doubled via a friend referal!) to 1Gb, but my highest was a 300mb that doubled to 600mb (after 29 pins I've had 2 of these). Luck of the draw I guess?

I have seen one gold on the map once, but it was about an hour drive to the north of Auckland city so not an option to 'hunt' (for me)
