Recently spoke to a rep about Hamilton and the future of cell tower placements. He mentioned that Hamilton and Tauranga were next in line but they were holding off due to roll out of a 4g network.

a store manager told me the same thing (4G coming soon)? last weekend.
mind you, he also said that the iPhone 3GS works best on 2Degrees network and Telecom has a 'fake' 3G network, so I decided to take his 4G comment with a pinch of salt.

Well, LTE wasn't "4G" until last year either. It was supposed to be LTE-A. Originally, 4G was supposed to be 1Gbp/s. Pressure from Americans...

Yes, it does *sound* a lot better, doesn't it? But then there's that pesky real world. The one in which the "slowest" network actually got the best real scores when Computerworld tested their VoIP on iPhone apps...
