Hello gents,

May I ask you to download the file at http://fry.snap.net.nz/testfile-100mb and let me know the speed at which it transfers?

I'll be phoning and testing this one-on-one with a few users, but for anyone I miss, please give it a whirl. I'm just trying to cut the problem in half, to try and find where the issue is.

*Edit: Please try this while cabled to your router, with your torrents turned off, with other users unplugged/disconnected - thanks!

Thanks,
Tim

I'm guessing you're talking to Snap/UFB customers but for comparison I can get nearly 1.9MB/s on Telecom ADSL.

Generally, although your results are still interesting. Serves as a useful comparison between a plain HTTP and speedtest.net.

Keep 'em coming.

Watching it come in, it looked to me like something was rate limiting the transfer. It did peek at ~4.4M/s as can be seen above.

I'm using TCL Warpspeed - 100/10.

I'm with Snap UFB 30/10.

Downloading around 3.3MB/sec

I don't know that point of national download test, because the issue is with international.

Intentionally, the IPv6 routing table is not efficient yet, so let's not muddy the water.

I'll test that later...

Not too surprising considering TCL peering policy.

i think that's his hard-disk being slow, it got all the data, then it had to write it to disk...
