i'm on old adsl 150gb plan $90, the new plan is $1 cheaper, do i need to do anything to get that $1 off my bill? i know its not much but i plan to stay with snap for long term which could add up to bigger number

There are no automatic plan changes, so you will have to switch yourself. Call up or do it online.

if you wish to change over to unlimited, you need to request it.

give them a call, ralph a PM, or email their billing and they will set your next month to be changed over.

Just made the switch, I was paying $155 for 1.2TB (100GB plan + 100GB free for 24 month sign up and 1TB add-on pack). Now $109 for unlimited.

Lets just hope the experience doesn't go down hill.

I've been thinking about a second line. I only have ADSL2+ service in my area and get about 12Mbps. I'm still at least a year away for Fibre if it arrives by then.

I thought about putting Igloo (there's two boxes in the house), Youtube and TVNZ ondemand traffic on to a seperate line.

How much is the Chorus side of things to have a second line wired up? I've got a twin lead in line with one dead pair.

Does it interfere much with sync speeds on the first line?

If you can do all the wiring yourself in your house (install jackpoint etc) then its no different really from your first line i.e. most ISPs will do it for free.
If you need wiring, then it's probably a ~$200 charge.

You could always get coffeebaron to do it for you, and put a nice master filter in to optimise both lines. He'll probably do that for less than chorus will charge. :P

Haha well there is that too, I can use the free sophos home UTM to bind the two lines together and double my bandwidth at home across the lines
But thats a lot of moneys a month just to double my bandwidth

Even in the old days with Telecom's BigTime (or whatever it was called), I'm still reasonably happy with their traffic management (say at peak times download speed around 200kb/s in the worst case scenario).

Have been with Snap for almost two years and have been very happy; I'm waiting for the fiber to cover my street so I could upgrade then but at this stage unlimited data ADSL serves me more then good enough for $99 a month

I'm now switched to snap unlimited.

Previous to today, the slowest download speed i've ever recorded on my 100/50 plan (via speedtest) has been around 70mbps. Usually it hovers around 90mbps.

But, today, my speed via speedtest.net is 27mbps.

I guess I'll wait until tomorrow and see if it is still low and give them a call.
