I got a 1GB golden pin in the Domain on Sunday (near the stage that was being dismantled) to bring my total to 1.8GB. I wonder if the same pin was visible to other data hunters or does each player get their own unique golden pin.

This evening when I checked the app I found two golden pins - one in Mt Albert and the other in Otara, both over 15kms from me, so had to ignore them.

edited to add: Both pins are still visible in the app at 22:45 (approx 90 mins after first sighting). One at Watford Street, Otara and the other at the intersection of Haydn Ave and Manukau Road, Royal Oak.

I got the golden pin at the Domain too, pretty sure it was last Thursday since they were putting up Xmas in the Park stuff at the time.

What's not Great, you don't get 10 GB, only 10,000 MB. The last spot is adjusted down so you don't go 1 MB over.

According to the tracking App I use with my bicycle total distance was 292.6 km, that's OK, if a car had been used instead it would have cost about $36.

Managed to get 2x 1GB Golden Pins yesterday - first time opening the app for a while as it just takes so long to load

Small issue is that it says you get 1GB of data, but it actually only gives you 1000MB (1GB = 1024MB), so I lost out on 48MB yesterday

I saw a couple of golden pins in downtown Wellington today. Told a friend and he went and got both golden pins for 2GB. About an hour later, I went and also got 2GB from the same pins, therefore, it appears that they are global to all users even after other users have collected them for themselves.

The golden pins were in different locations than normal pins have been. I was a bit concerned about getting all the pins in an area and then not being eligible if any of them turned into golden pins, however, this does not seem to be the way it works.

Check out nztechblog today also, they are doing a competition to get another 1GB, with a high chance of winning judging my the current number of comments on the blog post:

I managed to get to the Haydn Ave, Royal Oak pin on Wednesday - about 21 hours after first noticing it.

The one in Otara is still visible in the app.

Today I noticed two more pins - one appears to be on the SH1 off-ramp to Sylvia Park / Spotlight Mt Wellington and the other in Elliot Street, Auckland near Wellesley St W.

I have downloaded, uninstalled, reinstalled, and updated the app but it still doesn't work for me - I'm on a Galaxy S6 with a 2Degrees Semble Sim, Android 6.0.1, SM-G9208. Very keen to get this app working, any updates on the way?

The app has been updated a few times since the promo started, last one came through about two days ago.

I'm using it on my S6 with a standard SIM and have had no issues loading.

I think that the app can be loaded on a non 2 degrees mobile and data spots can be hunted on behalf of a 2 degrees number. I have not tested this as yet since I've already found 7GB (6 gold pins) around Auckland.

Can you try loading the app on another phone (and linking to your 2 degrees number)?

Unfortunately I don't have access to any other phones - and I have got the app updated to the latest version, I guess I'm wondering if perhaps it's a list of eligible phones, as opposed to simply the OS version or app version etc. I guess will wait and see if the next update fixes my issue! To be fair, I had the same issue with Semble (when that existed) because my phone wasn't a SM-G920F or whatever the locally sold version is.

Just to confirm I am running the app on my Vodafone note 4. The app is programmed with my 2 degrees data sim number. I have not had any issues using the app

If I'm on normal pre-pay and collect data, then buy carryover combo, will the data I've collected convert from 30 days expiry to carryover data?

Yes, we have got slightly more entries now, with 2 hours left to go! smile Some people have said to me that it was a hassle to screenshot, or that some didn't have a Facebook account to comment with.

I went to a Golden pin, the gold message box came up, said that I was close enough, Let's Go. I pressed it, wait, wait, wait then got a message "Looks like these points aren't close enough" and the pub turned grey. I was on the footpath, map showing the point on the road about 2 metres away.
Anyone have this happen?
