Just an update from me, Packet loss is back as of today. Could not get contact with MyRepublic all day. I would say this was related to Australia traffic but Youtube works, Google.co.nz (Hosted in Aus) has serious packet loss and Pbtech along with my local Uni website was not accessible. Games based in Aus and America are 100% stable. Tried changing DNS between google, Cloudflare and MyRepublic's DNS offerings and found no change. Seems to be some serious routing issues.

Can you give some examples of things that aren't working properly so we can test against them?

Got a response from MR today, noting there was a network outage on Monday. It's sorted

I was experiencing high wait times for websites yesterday but couldn't be worried about it and assumed it was my dad. However I just got home and found I had no connection. Rebooted the router and internet was back up but bandwidth at 10% of what it should be and ping to spark is 40-44 ms on fibre.

Seems they're having issues again. Don't know how long it's been down as I just walked through the door.

Red light ONT indicatse something else. Given the timing, i'd suspect your OLT is getting updates.

There is no scheduled work to be done from what I can see from my end. And according to their site, second led indicator being red indicates a fault

Chorus are upgrading the OLTs in batches overnight at the moment - timing seems to be around 00.30 - 02.00. The ONT will go offline and show a red light during this.

Just signed up to MyR... Hmmm thinking it may of been a mistake. On the pro plan with speeds up to 950/500 but the best I can get so far is 300/80.

Called the help desk number and spoke to some dude who took me through all the usual checks and about 20 mins into the call he finally said that... it can take up to a month before the new connection can identify all the new devices so call back then if the speeds don't get better... I think I have been fobbed off.

He also strongly made the point that the advertised speeds are "up to" so I should expect about 450 download. I am not impressed.

@nzcoach That is part of the issue! Are you using windows 10 and are you testing over Wi-Fi?

Similar result with the cable to the box. Also have a gigabit wifi connection to the router. Windows 10 yes.

@nzcoach Do not speedtest over Wi-Fi end of story as Wi-Fi is a shared radio resources with every other Wi-Fi router around you

Windows 10 install the speedtest App and do the test to the MR server using Ethernet
