All I'm doing is checking the IMS status on iPhone to see if it is saying Voice, so far it isn't. Still waiting for 2D to enable it but given no mention of live areas on their website its just a case of checking the status as I move around

I remember a post a while back saying VoLTE was only open to some Android phones, has it since been opened up to everyone including iOS or is that limitation still in place?

I'm sure a Geekzone user has VoLTE working on his iPhone

Drove through the Wairarapa today on my way to the Waikato, had working VoLTE from Featherston to around Woodville with the exception of Masterton. Didn’t check in the Hawkes Bay but can confirm it’s not working in the Waikato (Matamata at least)

Confirmed as the iPhone was showing “Voice” next to IMS status

They must of run into problems with VoLTE or its an issue with my phone, was in Palmerston North earlier today and couldn't get VoLTE and also tried making a call while driving through Kapiti which made the phone drop back to 3G.

It did work roughly a week ago when in the area, only difference between now and then is my phone is on iOS 14.7

I’m still not getting VoLTE near Tauranga (Minden hills). I’m possibly on a tower at katikati. It’s annoying as I use my phone to tether for work and I can’t call somebody while loading my pages on my computer at any reasonable speed.

iPhone SE 2020. iOS 14.6. Carrier software v46.

Still no VoLTE in Wellington/Hutt Valley either. I imagine if you can find an RCG site then you can give it a try from there.

p.s iOS 14.7.1 is now available but still running carrier bundle 46.

Has anyone noticed VoLTE being available in new areas? (other than Kapiti, Wairarapa and Northland)

Also does the implementation of this require hardware changes at each cellsite or just software config centrally?

VoLTE has not expanded from the above areas

Config can be done at cell or core level as I understand

iOS 15 has dropped this morning, can confirm now seeing 2degrees carrier bundle 47

However...

Still not seeing VoLTE as being available, also the warning message saying 2degrees is not approved for VoLTE is still showing as well.

Seeing VoLTE will depend on your location still but if VoLTE is not approved in iOS15 that is a massive let down

Looks like nothing is different setting wise, I was half expecting their 5G settings to appear also at the same time since the network is currently being built

5G settings can just be done in a carrier update bundle does not need to be iOS update

@morganbrowne What is happening about VoLTE? iOS 15 was meant to be it for 2degrees customers
