nzkiwiman:
Maybe I should seriously look at getting one of those Ideos X5 phones and move into the smartphone age.
iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!
These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.
nzkiwiman: Wow, that plan is looking to be some seriously good value.

SaltyNZ:
I think what you mean is that you can't receive messages from those places, which is completely different, and again, outside my control.
Apart from the fact that you apparently do know the operators, I do take your point, and that is the other reason why we suggest you get your friends to do the talking. Presumably they know which operator they are on even if you don't.
Also remember that we don't necessarily know either. NZ isn't the only country in the world with number portability. And number portability is a big part of the issue.

What I mean is, I can't send to, or receive from those places/operators..
As for your suggestion of getting your friends to do the talking? Are you referring to naming their operator, or contacting their operator?

Toiletduck:You should be able to send SMS to your friends, receive as discussed depends on the operator(o/s Telco).
SaltyNZ:Odd, that's never been a problem for me. Then again, receiving texts from them works for me too, at least for some of them. If you're sure you can't send to those places then you should contact customer care on 200. If you don't get any joy from them, PM me your number and who you're trying to contact and I will investigate.
Get your friends to complain to their operator that their texts are not reaching you.

I will ask my wife or kids to ring 200, as I am not a 2D customer due to the issues.
And I can try asking my friends to ask their operators, but last time I mentioned this to them they were quite confused as they have never struct this with anyone else before.
2DegreesCare:
Hi, thanks for the email. We'd need more info however (email or PM will do).
As Salty says if we have the 2D number, numbers sent to and from, network they're on, times and dates sent Customer Care will look into it thoroughly for you and see if there's a fault on our side.
Cheers

The X5 is a good phone - I cant fault it given the price, you will save even more having this instead of the iphone and a tie in with a VF Smart plan.
