McGee: Got a second pair ?

Could get nDSL on a second pair into the address and leave the phone etc untouched.

I just emailed snap support and asked about that option.
While talking the owners of the phone line about switching .. which is looking promising.

a new connection fee will apply

For what exactly ?

There's no connection fees on naked and I was told phone transitions are free ?

chorus will want a connection fee for hooking up the 2nd peer to a asam.

why not go with snaps phone and broadband for $75/m only $15/m more than naked dsl. and if you live in the south island 03 numbers are free to any town.

but then again when snap get their A into G they should have vfx like xnet naked dsl with voip phone.

What about telstraclear?

$75 - Ph line + 40GB + Free wireless modem
First 2 months free
12 month contract (early termination fee $199)

http://www.telstraclear.co.nz/sub-sites/our-sharpest-deal/index.cfm

The early termination fee is only $50, if you subtract the 2 months worth of free internet, and you get a free modem rental as well :D

...This isn't about Telstra.

There is no way I would consider moving to TelstraClear (no offence, but that special rate wasn't competitive a month ago, yet alone now)

Even without being able to move to an @home plan to get the new data packs, snap is more than competitive with the $5 unlimited for 3 nights deal which gets me through periods of large downloads.

However, since my last post it looks like I may be able to convince the owners of the phone line to let me switch the phone line to snap - best of both worlds.
I get more data, they save $40-50 a month off their phone bill.

Just need to ask a few questions to confirm a few things.

Have the business plans been redone or are they still to be done? I can't believe how much more the business plans cost than the residential.

this was posted yesterday on Snap Twitter

For all those asking, the @ work plans will be finalized late next week.

snap have managed to answer all my questions regarding moving over to them which should please the phone line holders. Hopefully soon I can get the increase in cap .. and the cheapness of the phone/ADSL combo.

Still waiting for the new @ Work plans. They promised the end of the week. I guess there's still another 3 hours of the working week left, but nothing from Snap yet.

Just called up and it took less than 5 minutes to rejoin snap on the @home plans (even with a error at work causing the call I was on to disconnected half way confirming the additions to the plan (145GB and Wiring Maintenance)

So on the 6th (my plan roll over date) I should be connected to thew new plans.

Then I decide if I want unlimited YouTube and/or more data)

Looks like they've doubled the @Work plans. We were on 100GB VDSL, now 200GB for the same price
