tgzerozone: So everyone with fibre and VDSL etc. If you go to speedtest.net and connect to let's say "San Francisco", what is your download result? Do not connect to an Auckland server.

Not bad yes. Some of the other people who mentioned speedtests get the same or slightly better than what some people on ADSL get. I get 10-11 on good days on adsl 2, that is like 1 m below one of the other users.

Your's however is a different story.

And then further, read this:

I stand corrected at most of the speeds then. Seems the fibre plans get more international bandwidth then.

Look at the bandwidth recommendations for netflix above though, for hd 5 meg plus should be sweet.

So anyone having issues with hulu and roku. Still not loading the videos.

I note in browser that the home frame throws a 500 error, I think this makes the roku app sh%t itself. Anyone else getting a 500 error on one of the frames on hulu.com. The videos still seem to play though, in browser.

Hulu was broken for me yesterday, also with HTTP 500 errors, but now seems to be working (albeit quite slowly). Do you have an IPv6-enabled connection by any chance?

By the way, thanks and congratulations to Orcon! This is a great service, and now I don't have to subscribe to UnoTelly any more!

I have IP 6 on the router yes, just ticked for both to be supplied by orcon dns. Roku doesn't use ip6 though.

I'll test it again later on.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

What version of Roku do you have? I have a Roku streaming stick and Roku3 and both work well with HuluPlus.

We are looking into the HTTP 500 errors. I assume you are running windows 8.1?

Tried on roku 3, roku XS and streaming stick. All the same.

It does load, but the "Shows you watch" and "recommended for you" and everything down just have the "loading" image and never loads. Not getting country error. When I switch unodns back on it works again.

Also very slow to launch.

EDIT: I don't think running windows 8.1 on my laptop would have any effect on roku workflow...

Agreed, but the Error 500 seems to be limited to people running Windows 8.1 with IPV6.

I am not sure what it up with your Roku. We have a number of staff using Roku and Hulu with no issues.

Yup, what I said was that I saw the 500 error on my pc, and thought that might have something to do with the roku. But the 500 error was on a windows 7 machine as well using ip4.

I find it strange that 4 different roku's would do the same.

I'll reboot, refresh re-whatever everything tonight and give it another bash. I have two roku streaming sticks, one 3, and one XS. I would imagine not all of them could have issues as said.

The only thing I can really suggest to to factory reset your CPE (I assume you are using a Netcom White?).

That will ensure all the DNS setings etc are all set right.

I'll try that.

I have reconnected (Black genius), but I would imagine it is specific to hulu as the other stuff still works.

I shall play with it a bit, if anyone else experiences issues, please let me know.

If you can get a wireshark dump of the traffic, that would help greatly to find the cause.

Frustrating. Can't get BBC iplayer to work in iOS at all. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the connectivity or country recognition part but there's just nothing come down the wire. I've installed the iplayer app and also tried just through the browser, same issue both ways, no streaming :-(

Can anyone confirm for me this should be working on iPhone/iPad?
