Mine's completed.  Assurance this morning told me to wait up to 15 minutes for the phone to start working and after they adjusted the password, the phone light came on after a few minutes

also, everything working well with my own hardware (mikrotik + pap2t). the mikrotik didn't require any reconfiguration however the pap2t needed the country code added to the phone number, sip/proxy addresses changed to voice.orcon.net.nz and of course the password changed

Wonder how you avoided the porting failure?

not sure.

after following up with the listed 0800 number when my connection dropped, they ran a check with Chorus to see if their side of whatever had been completed to which they had their provisioning team push through the request so the Orcon side of things would continue.  That makes it sound like there's a disconnect between when Chorus completes something to Orcon progressing the connection.  Maybe someone manually goes through the lot at some point in the day.

so that was for the data.  the phone was similar except they had to update credentials the day after i queried this - whether that was them logging into my router or settings being pushed out im not sure.  probably the latter otherwise it'd be an instant thing.

so for me towards the end it just required some manual pushing along but i would like to think this would have been done in due course anyway.

Chorus is a funny beast.  they only take one change at a time and won't queue up changes so if an isp requires multiple changes they have to submit the first, wait for it to be confirmed completed before an isp can submit the next

Just received a phone call from a chorus contractor verifying my address for fiber installation... told him it's an upgrade and the address already got fiber connected

Still haven't received modem

Your in for a hefty wait my friend. I was meant to be connected on the 20th but have had no internet since then and there is no definite eta for a fix. I'll give it one more day then I will be changing ISPs. This is what happens when international companies buy into New Zealand ;(.

And I still have no phone. This is REALLY trying and not good for household harmony.

Getting damned annoyed.

linw, brookz: I can empathise with your predicament.

Really disappointing that things don't seem to be getting any smoother since my switch-over.

Cam is onto it but no result so far. Funny, my cell ph rings my landline with normal ring tones but my landlines still only know beep...beep... etc.

Well, my phone is working now (yea!) after the port went through this afternoon. I have to confess the last problem was mine as I interpreted the lit LED on Telephone no. 1 meant that the cable was in the no. 1 socket. Silly mistake so ignore the LED and check the socket!

My wife will be happier when I can tell her she has a phone again.

Now to get brookz sorted.
