They probably will release their "chinwag" SIMs then for an August launch.

Remember - the SIMs won't work until they launch.

I was thinking that it would be highly unusual for a company such as 2 degrees to give less than 2 weeks notice before starting, so I'm guessing it'll be at the earliest 9th of August. Also, loose lips etc.

Just appeared on their facebook page they have reached max allocation of free simm cards to send out. Not a bad way at the end of the day to launch with an "instant" customer base

It'll be interesting to see how many of those potentional customers will stay.

I expect that lots will use it up and then port their vodafone numbers over to it once its proven itself as reliable etc... How many of the 022 numbers are used ongoing is a bigger question.

Mind you at $2 for a sim, there isnt the pressure to keep them live like with vodafone where its 1500% more expensive to get a number.

In all honesty, I hope its only like 6 months, because I dont want long numbers to be here too soon.

its bad enough that Vodafone have gotten extra long

well remember that some other mobile network decided they would launch early untill some other widely disliked mobile company had a bit of a hissyfit about things and delayed it back to when it was going to launch anyway.

Without interference to complain about there isnt anything vodafone can do to complain about them launching early so it would make sense for them to do it.
