I presume orcon auto-changes us to the new plans, or do we need to contact them and do it ourselves?

you mean you aren't migrating customers over to the new plans? that's pretty poor.
As both the pricing AND content of the plans are changing, it would not be right for us to automatically switch customers over as it may not suit certain customer's particular situation (in fact it's not actually legal for us to do so anyway).
I just called to upgrade my Orcon@Home to Genius and I was told that I have to pay a $100 connection fee to change plans! Ridiculous! The cheek of it, especially considering the huge amount that I have spent on additional data over the last 12 months (Probably about $400ish extra). I expected more than that from Orcon. They have totally encouraged me to look elsewhere!
I am in exactly the same boat! Let's go to Telstra.. at least 2-3 months of free supply would help redeem some of it :P
