Why are people using the $39 plan in their calculations to downgrade when 2D also have a $29 plan?

2D are offering 1GB for 2 years on $39 plans upwards - do you know if you still get to keep this if you downgrade from their $89 plan to their $39 plan?

No, you don't keep the 1Gb data when you drop down plans, but my understanding of what most are going to do is drop to the $39 plan and then add 1Gb data for $20.

This was clarified by one of the posters earlier in this thread with the 2Degrees staff that the $39 plan has the 1GB bonus data and the subscriber to that plan will get the 1GB bonus regardless of if he/she is downgrading from a higher plan or upgrading from $29 plan.

The above scenario will only not work if in 6 months time, 2 Degrees removes the 1GB bonus from the $39 plan. Only in that case will the customers downgrading from $89 to $39 will not get a 1GB bonus coz it wouldnt be a part of the $39 plan at that time.

My bad - I'm still hung up on the fact that you can drop down to the $39 plan with out and other penalty after 6 months!

Hey - did you get your clear case in the end?

Nah.. :( Couldnt get one either at 2 Degrees or Vodafone here in Manukau (Auckland). If you know any shop around Auckland selling that let me know. All I found in clear case was some soft silicone ones which were already looking yellowish.. and wouldnt last more than a few months before they start turning yellowish.. so wasnt interested in getting those..

That is really surprising - the largest market in NZ and a lack of decent choices. No wonder everyone says to just buy off TradeMe.

Walk into any $2 type store and you can easily pick up an iphone 4/4s case for $2-$3 but nothing for anything else

I would have at least expected they would stock the ipod touch cases

Also given how popular the S2 (and S3) are I would have thought someone would have those too

They're readily available on ebay and to a lesser extent trademe

Hmm, my 1-2-3 dollar shop had some S2 and ipod touch cases when I was looking for a new case for my S2.

I think I paid $3.90 for a hardish gell case in transparent for the S2 - yeah I could have ebayed it from HK for half the price but it was a small price to pay. And since it wasnt factory fresh it didnt smell like a chemical factory.

I am planning to go to a lower plan after my plan's 6 months is up in January.

As discussed earlier in the page, the 2 Degrees staff had told that even going to a lower plan we would qualify for 1GB bonus data but now 2 Degrees have stated on their website that shifting to lower plans we dont get any bonus so that includes no extra minutes and no extra data

For the data its still ok coz we can just buy a 1GB pack for $20 and we would still have approx 2000 minutes accumulated so that still doesnt matter.

But the trick is in getting a 1GB pack.. its for broadband zones only so once we travel outside the broadband zones we get charged at the normal rate..

So as long as we are in our broadband zones we are all good with the data.

Anyone else has any other thoughts or opinions.. please do share..

Be interesting to see how that plays out. As when I talked to 2Degrees on the phone and instore they confirmed as long as it was the $39 plan or higher you would keep the 1gig.

Also the T&C don't seem to say it doesn't apply.

"On termination of your 2degrees Pay Monthly Plan or transfer to Prepay or
Business Plan you lose your entitlements to Bonus Minutes/Data."

We aren't terminating, transfering to Prepaid or a business plan.

I could be missing something else.
