I remember when it launched with Spark, it was timed around an iOS and watchOS update. With the timing of the banner on their website, comments about it launching soon, fingers crossed it’s part of the 17.1 update (and corresponding watchOS 10.1 update) which is meant to be released to the general public in about ten days or so based on a recent MacRumors article.

Yes this was like esim release that 2d did, first came to Samsung but had to wait for an iOS update to support on iPhones for 2d etc.  I just wish they would give us an idea of where they are up too and some kind of ETA on it (or if it has been put on hold while they are working on other things).  I know that Apple needs to OK the testing and release before 2d can release, would just be nice to know if they are currently testing in house etc.

Yeah, I think if they don't offer an update of some sort soon, they're going to lose a few long-term customers who they'll struggle to get back. Many of those are the very customers who have been vocal supporters of 2D up to now. To turn them into detractors is business suicide.

I'm eagerly awaiting an update from One NZ to see what the plans will be and then I'll likely jump ship myself. I'm over waiting patiently while the silence is deafening.

For Apple (and other cellular) watch users is an eSIM alone not sufficient. You need a so-called MultiCard, which allows up to three devices to be reachable under one telephone number of the same provider. This is available both as a physical card and as an eSIM variant ... for some time now here in GER, but as I understand it, apparently not yet in NZ.

So for cellular watch users in NZ the detailed question to the provider must be: „When will eSIM and the MultiCard be available?“

I see on social media that 2DM are now doing a giveaway of Samsung watches - which might indicate that something like the initial One NZ launch is happening sometime soon - i.e. the easy part (Samsung connectivity) is being launched first while the hard part (Apple) will come later.
What I would really like is some kind of transparency, because if I don't see something shortly, I am definitely going to One NZ as soon as Apple connectivity is announced.

The banner on One NZ’s home page has been updated to say support for Apple Watch is coming this Friday, 27 October.

Still waiting for 2degrees to say anything!

„Too soon“ always means losing customers … soon.

@SaskiaDonnell WOW not even a single comment very disappointing!

I suggest 2degrees customers vote by changing mobile provider here is all the information on the OneNZ site

Yes disappointing no reply. Seems that the “old vocus way” is now the new 2degrees way (more worried about buying other companies / customers) and speeding resource merging systems over anything else.

Already picked up a one.nz sim card and have it in the phone with the option now to setup my Apple Watch with mobile data.

I've jumped ship.

Signed up to port my number across to One yesterday. Had a phone call to confirm today and will be a One NZ customer from Monday at the latest. At which point, I'll mnove my kids accounts to a group plan and will also add my Apple Watch.

Goodbye 2Degrees. It was fun while it lasted.

Hey there, sorry for the delay in response and that I am unable to provide you with a more definitive update yet. We are working hard on our offering for all our customers and will have an update early in the new year.
