webup: So with the 6 months now coming up soon is anyone here switching back from the $89 they bought the phone on to a lower plan?

I am planning to go to a lower plan after my plan's 6 months is up in January.

As discussed earlier in the page, the 2 Degrees staff had told that even going to a lower plan we would qualify for 1GB bonus data but now 2 Degrees have stated on their website that shifting to lower plans we dont get any bonus so that includes no extra minutes and no extra data

For the data its still ok coz we can just buy a 1GB pack for $20 and we would still have approx 2000 minutes accumulated so that still doesnt matter.

But the trick is in getting a 1GB pack.. its for broadband zones only so once we travel outside the broadband zones we get charged at the normal rate..

So as long as we are in our broadband zones we are all good with the data.

Anyone else has any other thoughts or opinions.. please do share..

Be interesting to see how that plays out. As when I talked to 2Degrees on the phone and instore they confirmed as long as it was the $39 plan or higher you would keep the 1gig.

Also the T&C don't seem to say it doesn't apply.

"On termination of your 2degrees Pay Monthly Plan or transfer to Prepay or
Business Plan you lose your entitlements to Bonus Minutes/Data."

We aren't terminating, transfering to Prepaid or a business plan.

I could be missing something else.

Thats what I thought as well until I read this

So when you open up the 1st pdf document
No. 41 states that :
"If you change your Plan to a new Plan you will not be entitled to any new Pay Monthly Bonus"

I might be wrong in interpretation of this clause but it seemed to me that we dont get the 1GB bonus as told by the 2 Degrees staff 5 months ago

I reckon that "Pay mothly bonus" is related to cash off as per http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/paymonthly/plans/bonus

which would make sense, you can't get another discount or store voucher by downgrading

Once of the people who got this deal early on must have already downgraded, hopefully they can tell us what happened

Yeah, would appreciate if they could share their experiences with us now. I was one of the last ones to grab this deal at end of july so 6 months on my plan doesnt finish off till end of January. So thats another 6 weeks for me before I can downgrade my plan.

Come on guys.. If you have downgraded by now, let us know how it went..

Sounds very convoluted for a company that promised to simplify peoples Telco needs?

Yes but it probably is trying to discourage the existing handset owners on $89 plan from downgrading their plan to a lower one..

That's the information I pointed out back at the start of this thread (well, maybe not at the start, but many months ago), which we all ended up agreeing was the Store Vouchers you could get for signing up on to Pay Monthly. So I don't think that is going to be an issue.

Thats interesting.. Hope the change in rules stated earlier happened before that which means we all get to keep our data with $39 plan

Ok I just spoke to 2degrees customer service.

I got the GS3 on July 3rd 2012 and according to them if I call or go onto Your2degrees and downgrade to the $39 there will be no charge and I keep the 1gb of data.

My phone has AutoCallRecorder installed so I have the call saved for futre reference if I need it.

Cheers for the info mate..  Much appreciated.. Cool

But for the no charge bit.. i am a little confused.. coz in the purchase terms and conditions it said $110 to downgrade from $89 to $39..

But would be interesting once one of us actually downgrades... Keep us updated..

Just a little update from my experience. Just changed my plan, takes effect at the end of this billing cycle so next month. they confirmed that rollover minutes and bonus data will be applied. I personally went down to the $29 plan with the 500 meg bonus data.

Moving from the $89 to $39 - hope this clears stuff up, doesn't mention anything about the bonus data for the next 2 years.

this is a slap in the face!
