Hi guys,

Just saw AVM post that they have released the latest version of the Fritz!Box software for the 7340 as above.

Has some pretty good looking new features.

I won't paste them here as I'm not sure if that's aloud.

Happy investigating!

Careful, they've taken out the bridge option.... :-( or at least I can't see it any more.

I couldn't see the bridge mode either which is a pain.

I also noticed that when in that accounts settings area if I change an option, IE DSL modem to cable modem the apply button still stays greyed out :/

Still got some other great features, Under the network area it now tests what devices are actually active online on the network plus it can also monitor my powerline hardware (ethernet over power )

Might need to inquire with them re bridging.

It will also pass on your IPv6 addressing to downstream routers.

I like how it shows the active things under networks as well :) - currently showing my little android has WLAN 150 Mbit/s connection, and all my computers have LAN 100 Mbit/s

I a little confused about the ipv6 bit tho, I understood that it wasn't yet implemented worldwide yet, yet it is showing connected on my fritz...

Snap's had support for IPv6 for awhile now prob a good 6 months.

I can't get it on mine cause I've got a Thompson as the internet facing CPE as it can do bridge were I couldn't get the fritz to do it.

One thing I have also found is since mine is just used primarily as a AP / SIP device instead of getting it to connect to the LAN via LAN1 I have to now use LAN2 and it still shows LAN1 as the WAN connection and still as down.
Might be a bug ?

Well upgrading my work Fritzbox has screwed up my ipv6 dns settings. I previously had "advertise dns over ipv6" disabled, but they've removed that option so Fritzbox tells everything on my LAN that it is the DNS server, which bypasses my Windows domain servers.

I might have to try and roll back to the older firmware if I can find it.

Failing that you should be able to manually edit the config file for the DNS servers to fix that.

Let us know if you can roll back though I think a few people might need to.

On the old firmware I had 50mbit, after updating I could only get 40mbit. Now back on the old firmware and back at 50mbit again
