This is not going to be so much a rant but a query of "is there anything else I can do ?"

I have been with Orcon for over 7 years using a plan that was called "orcon platinum" . It gave me the phone line and internet (50Gb) plus free national calls and one free international country. I have a standard modem (no genius) and I know my connection is on an orcon dslam at my local exchange some 490 metres from my house

I have been getting a few more disconnects recently but didnt think anything of it then i decided i wanted to change my designated calling country from the US to the UK . I rang up and spoke with a fairly polite helpdesk  but when I requested the international zone change there was a distinct change in the discussion. I was told this would have to be done through senior provisioning team members and that it might not be possible until the end of this billing period. "Thats strange" I said to helpdesk "I have done this many times before"

Next thing I get this email :
"Hi there *******

Thank you for your call earlier on in the week. This is just an email to follow up on the plan change that you have requested.

I have heard back from our provisioning team, and unfortunately, they tell me that this plan change for calling from international calling zone from USA, to international calling zone to UK can not be completed.

They suggest that you need to change to a newer plan.

Sorry I could not help you further in the matter.

Thanks for contacting us.

The Team@Orcon"

So guess my questions are:
-does anyone else have this older plan and have they changed international calling without problems before ?
- is there a senior geek here who knows how I might get Orcon to do what they are contractually obliged to do and change my designated calling country
-many people have complained on this site about orcon since the arrival of the Genius...would anyone recommend the quality of international calls since they change plans to a genius
I know there is no reward for loyalty and consistency with any telecom these days but this response just took my breath away.
If I cant get what i am paying for I guess its time to move on...
