The FYX pricing is looking quite good for heavy use, but I'd like to stick with Orcon if there's any sign they're meeting the (new) market on this. Any clues?

What exactly are you looking for?

Orcon already announced some new rates:
http://www.orcon.net.nz/about/article/orcon_boosts_genius_plans

"from Monday 23 April (2012)... Genius 60GB plan is $89-a-month, 200GB for $99-a-month, and 1000GB for $199-a-month".

And everyone else that's not an Genius can just go to hell. As usual.

Just that the Genius plan locks you in for a long while (unless you fork out for modem/connection), plus you have to guess what your data consumption is likely to be; ours is very erratic, some months 30GB, others 150GB. If you get your guess wrong it can get very expensive, which is why the straight 30c/GB rate of FYX looks quite nice.

Problem solved.  Go with FYX.

Looks that way.  I'm giving them until the end of May then it's off to Telecom..  I've been with them for over 10 years now..

Can you use SIP clients with the Genius service? I'd like to use my Android mobile as the handset for my fixed line number.
