I'm doing research for a new cellphone for a school principal. Considering going with 2D.

Once a year he goes overseas (could be China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia) for international students.

I remember 2D had some trouble with international roaming a couple of years back due to being new and having not got enough roaming agreements in place, but how is that all doing now?

Anyone here roam OK to Thailand on 2D for example?

Cheers,

Andrew

The only issue 2Degrees has was at Christmas time due to overloaded links,

You should check out the 2Degrees website they have a list of places customers can roam with costs

One benefit they have is real time balances and also spend control to ensure you don't get a $1000 bill (or worse) two weeks after you get back.

And as of today you can now roam in China! :)

Roaming available in the following provinces: Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong. The Network used will be China Unicom and is a great addition to our ever expanding roaming offering.

As Corksta says for all the other places you can use your 2degrees phone see here -

My friend and I roamed on Softbank and NTT DoCoMo when we were in Japan last year. Texts would have no delay and never once did I not have full bars.

Coverage quality / footprint is not related to your home carrier when roaming
