Hey there!

So I've been with snap for about a year now but since we moved in January I've been getting horrible lag spikes frequently.

I've contacted snap about it and they say my Line attenuation is about double what it should be for my area. Snap then sent chorus out to check my line etc and of course chorus said "there's nothing wrong with the line".

Heres a couple hour ping test I ran to a server in USWest

Overall its not to bad, but there's some horrible spikes in there & I cant seem to figure out why :(

Theres a speed test, it ranges anywhere from 0.2 down to 6.5mb down & 0.01mb up to 0.5mb up.

If anyone has any ideas on why it could possibly be this erratic I'd love to hear them :)

Thanks. (Also I have nothing against snap, they've been very helpful in helping me try to figure out why my line is horrible)

Wow just looking at the ping results I can see 11% packet loss from Lax05. That could probably be it? But i'm guessing theres nothing anyone can do to fix that :(

Can you supply the dest IP on that trace so I can do a similar test out of interest ?

Cheers.

Hmm I'm getting about 150ms response to last hop average with worst being 440ms.

Got about 2% loss on lax / cogentco

Ignore the hops in the middle. They are probably routers with ICMP ratelimits on them.

The only result you need to look at is the last hop.
