Hey,
Just brought an HTC Sensation from Trademe which was 'unlocked to all New Zealand Networks' however as put in my Telecom XT sim and has absolute rubbish reception.

Rang assistance and it turns out that the phone originated in Singapore which was nice too learn after spending a fair bit of money on the phone!

The specified networks are HSPA/WCDMA : (900/AWS/2100 MHz)
                                      GSM/GPRS/EDGE : (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

It works in central city for Telecom however that is completely useless to me!

Rang 2 degrees and they said it should in theory work but put in a friends SIM card (2o) to no avail.

What sort of coverage will I get for 2 degrees with the phone as specified above?

Sorry as you can tell i'm not much of a techy!

Will I get reasonable 2o coverage or just in major city centers?

Or has this been a very expensive learning curve/stuff up?

Thanks,

Luke

Thanks, very quick reply!

So I will get reasonable reception right throughout the country not just in city centers?

Very glad to hear I have not wasted a great deal of money :)

This will work on Vodafone and 2degrees just fine. Forget about using it on Telecom NZ though as it doesn't support HSPA/WCDMA 850 MHz.

Cheers guys!

Hours searching google and fluffing around. Less than 10 minutes here to get a decent answer.
Much appreciated.
