Hi

The site in question is

magicbrowbands.com.au

I couldn't access it this morning and still can't, I looked at monitoring sites like alertra.com and they all tell me the site is up.

I finally tried accessing it through a proxy site "goldtunnel.com" and was able to access it no worries.

After accessing the site via the proxy I was briefly able to access it normally (as in not through the proxy), but the issue has now returned

what I have tried

Rebooting the router
Various Browsers, Opera IE, Chrome etc
Rebooting computer
Flushing DNS thingie
Swearing, and leaving it for an hour or so

I tried it myself and couldn't access it either.  I checked via www.netirk.com and it tells me that the domain does not exist or is inaccessible.  I guess maybe they've taken it down for routine maintenance.

They have a Facebook page, and they show contact details on there of 0419 940 119 and email of mel@magicbrowbands.com.au - so maybe give them a call or drop them an email.

Okey doke

After spending time with a rep they are transferring it up to a level 2 thingie

although after getting off the phone with the rep, I was actually able to access the site for a short while, then the problem came back. Just to reiterate absolutly no other site I visit is having this problem and if I access the site via a proxy it is there and if i run the

www.isup.me/magicbrowbands.com.au

It tells me the site is up, so pretty please all you orcon and non-orcon users see if you can visit the site and if you can't please post back, so that when (and if) they phone me back I can point to this thread and say look i'm not the only one having this issue

Cheers

The issue isn't an Orcon specific one, there is definately something screwy with their DNS records.

Odyssey issue?

On Slingshot I'm able to ping IP address of the authoritative nameserver 74.204.185.133 (Via GGI and TCL)
On Hosting Direct (via Orcon) I'm unable to get outside the Orcon network to 74.204.185.133

Ok its all working again, is it working for those of you on orcon who also couldn't access it.

@nebbie and  sbiddle

I am not sure what you guys are meaning,

regarding the DNS, if it wasn't an Orcon issue surely it would have also prevented me from viewing the site using the proxy?

"Odyssey issue" not sure what that means, tried googling it but ended up with tonnes of pages on the Honda Odyssey which even i can tell is fairly likely to be irrelevant (especially as the site is australian so it would have to be a holden not a honda anyway)

Anyway lets see how long I have access to the site

I'm with Orcon and I still can't access it, but I can access it using a proxy.  I'm with you, it must be an Orcon issue.

It is not an Orcon specific issue. I tested this (and had somebody else test it) using several ISP's with Kordia upstream and all failed on a tracert and nslookup.

And the fact it worked on a proxy doesn't mean it's an ISP specific issue.
