The short story is that Google and their international service provider for SMS don't particularly care about NZ, and route for cheap. So, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have tried to contact them to talk about it, but never received a reply.

*Shrug* Yeah, well, to be honest i would have been shocked if I had. But I couldn't come on here and honestly say I had done everything I could without attempting to talk to them. Faxed their Sydney office on 2degrees letterhead and everything.
