Just curious, how long have some GEEKZONE readers been ORCON Customers?

And WHY did you join them (however long ago)?

I'm sure i have been a Loyal Orcon Lacky (L.O.L.) for perhaps 10 years...
* perhaps the Orcon CustomerService Rep here can provide me an extact date?

As to Why... well they were the Technican's choice.
Most PC fixitMonkeys were using them, their speed packages were nifty & no traffic bogged down like Xtras.
Ahhh those WERE the days! I must have recommended quite a few people of the years to join - including one business i was with to switch to Orcon for 4+ years.

Our 2011 Orcon BILL (NOT including Cellphone) exceeding my GenesisEnergy (Power) BILL over a 12month period... I made some changes, but am still looking to further save or get better vaule (aka DATA) for our dollar.

Have i become complacant with Orcon, have i just been with them tooo long?
Is $133/month for 45Gb & POTS+CID become just too much?

Fibre is in our street, but am thinking or jumping to another ISP for 1 year to wait & see what price/plans evolve out of them.

Opinions any1?

Just Another L.O.L.

Been with them for about 5-6 years I think (I did ask recently, would have to find their reply).... went with them because their pricing at the time was good as any and all 3 other ISPs I had been with had let me down big time....

Users here on GZ will know by my posts etc that Im still happy with Orcon and recommend them to friends....

been with them at least 7 years. Been happy with their service but disappointed with their non genius plans.

Looking around for better options.

Been with them for about 6 years. I agree that their non-genius plans are just not acceptable and thier customer can be "iffy".

However, I am on their 200gb Genius plan at the moment and the speeds are good so it satisfying me and I am happy.

I've been with Orcon ever since Voyager closed it's doors which i think was about 12 years ago.. Though if reports that there are no new plans for Internet only customers unless you put you fone service thru them then I may not see out this year with them..

I've been with them for about 2 years. Prior to that I'd always been with TelstraClear cable, but their data caps are too restrictive.

according to the email i just got im still a customer and in the draw to win a trip to Fiji . Mind you the fact that i have been with Snap for 5 years and Slingshot before that might be a deal breaker.

Yep.  That's how they got me.  The free disk in a long defunct NZ computer mag..

I see they have reentered the market again, and recently purchased the host net24 according to their news page.

I see that Seeby Woodhouse is the CEO and co founder. Wasn't he involved in Orcon??
