I'm keen on moving my business to fibre but the orcon address checker says it's not available yet however the chorus site has had fibre live past my address for the last month or so - which one is right? and how can we hurry things along a bit?

Post to their Facebook page or phone them and ask them to re-check.  I have seen someone ask this question before, yesterday, on Facebook and they said that they would re-check incase it was Orcon's mistake with the address checker.  Good luck.

Lol Deja Vu just answered another thread? DO NOT trust the address checker. Ring them and they will run a proper pre qual check. More than likely you can get it.

nitrotech if you PM me your address details i can have it checked to see if its available.
Please also indicate if you own or rent.

I dont know anything really about the pre-qual checker, so cant comment on its accuracy, I can simple get it checked against the raw data we get from chorus.

Are you sure the fibre is live?

There has been plenty of fibre infrastructrue deployed over the last few months that isn't yet ready - just because the street has been dug up and the microducting is in place doesn't necessarily mean you can be provisioned with service, there is a lot of other work and equipment that needs to be installed as well.
