Hi all

Since they deleted my question off of their Facebook page thought I would ask here

Isn't it about time Orcon looked after their non Genius customers

Being a current Orcon customer.  I thought I would look into Genius to get the extra 100gig, for less than the $125 odd per month I pay for the Bronze service 105gig . So I began the sign up process only to find I am outside of the coverage area (using there service tool) .  There next best plan is $246 per month for 205 gig.

Which providers are ppl happy with that are offering more that 105 gig in the $100 to $150 bracket.

I think its time to move on

Cheers

Jeremy

If you're outside the coverage area it means you're obviously serviced by BUBA and not EUBA.

Because of the limitations of BUBA they've presumably made a business decision like some other ISP's not to push high use plans to avoid congestion and complaints from users over low throughput since BUBA is a legacy product with per user dimensioning.

Hi,

Yes I think I am on Buba, But for example I could subscribe to the snap $550gig plan for $145, $20 more per month for 5x the data, Hope fully someone can comment on Snaps quality of service, as they are competitive.

Even if Orcon had some carrot for customers in our situation I would be happier

Cheers

BUBA offers a substandard service compared to EUBA. It's an ATM based service with enforced per user dimensioning.

One can presume that Orcon simply are't interested in offering high use plans on BUBA becuase of the problems they know that will arise as a result. You have to remember that you're very much in the minority of NZ internet users when it comes to usage, using well over 10x the average use per user.

I use telecom and have the 120 GB plan for $105 a month, which comes with a land line too. I am very happy with the speed.
Fyi I moved from Orcon too because it is too expensive for non genius plans.

what makes you think they are deleting your question off facebook?

I can see it there right now, unless there is another Jeremy Hiscock asking the same question.

"Hi Orcon,
What offers do you have for us current Orcon customers that are unable to receive Genius due to being outside your coverage. $249 for 205gig does compare well to $99 for 200gig for genius"

I appear unable to edit my original post, when I visited FB later on it was not visible, I have just revisited and changed my setting and have found it. Thankyou for pointing this out.

I am also looking for new offer, I just finish my last orcon contract. The telecom 120gb offer seems to be an ideal.
