I sent an email today via snap's smtp server and received the following bounce message:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.

Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed.

              <[recipient]@gmail.com>

The reason for the problem:
4.3.2 - Not accepting messages at this time 421-'4.7.0 [202.37.100.104      10] Our system has detected an unusual rate of\n4.7.0 unsolicited mail originating from your IP address. Please visit http://www.google.com/mail/help/bulk_mail.html\n4.7.0 to review our Bulk Email Senders Guidelines. go9si25674943pbc.307'

This appears to indicate that Google's mail servers consider snap's SMTP server to be sending spam!

Has anyone else had any similar errors to this?

Sad to say that I've just shutdown my account with snap after being with them for around 6 years. The 2 days of disconnection a couple of weeks ago & now this - I realize someone sending 70,000 spam emails isn't there fault but it's a final straw for me. I also just waited 20 minutes on the phone for them, back in the day it was an answer within a minute.

Hi Everyone,

Yes, this was due to a compromised email account sending spam from our SMTP server last night.
Although this was quickly identified & stopped, some of these emails had already been processed.

We have made changes to our email security appliances to avoid this happening again!

I apologise for the inconvenience this may be causing.

Hmm, that's rather annoying, I use this for server reports (possibly about time I set up my own)

I moved my domain mx to google directly to bypass any of these issues of local SMTP / ISP related problems.

What is the cost to do that? Does that mean google handles all your email for you?
