Just HAVING a very bad experience with Orcon. Decided to make to move from Broadband + Tel from Orcon (Orcon @ Home), to Orcon "Genius" (because it should be better, right?!).

Lost connexion to our home phone last Tuesday 31-Aug-2012, when the change started. It was mentioned to me that we might loose phone and internet connexion for 4 hours more or less.

As of today (3-Aug-2012) --4 DAYS-- the phone DOES NOT WORK, although internet is there. I called Tech Support everyday, got really nice guys behind the lines, but nothing REALLY happened. Someone dropped the ball at ORCON (workflow?, sloppy work?), and well... I just have to wait (sic). Today, Aug 3rd, 2012, the support person mentioned that the problem should be resolved next Tuesday (!!??).

THAT IS: A WEEK WITHOUT HOME PHONE. IT REALLY SUCKS.

And this is a change from Orcon@Home to OrconGenius! (inside the same company).

PS; An I know that I am not the only one. Good Luck for you.

We're in a similar situation. New customer of Orcon, got the Genius and internet started working on Thursday. After 2 days of going back and forward with technical staff, I finally managed to find someone who would listen to what I had to say and they are replacing our modem on Monday - That'll be 5 days without phone before we get anything but if you keep going at them, hopefully you can get the same outcome :)

Can you PM me your account number, and I'll see if I can find out what's going on.  Certainly not normal to have such a delay.

Thanks for your offering for help. I sent you the info. Basically hope that Management there at Orcon can improve their workflow so these things/problems are minimized...

FInally Solved.

At 3PM Tue Aug 7th, 2012.

7 (SEVEN) DAYS in TOTAL TO RECOVER THE PHONE SERVICE.

Thanks to Dan (UeberGeek) for the info. Whoever has contacts inside Orcon, please tell that "VIctor" Smilefrom Tech Support, really tried hard at least to give me feedback and move whatever was possible to "move".

But something is still wrong in the Workflow.

I hope that this won;t happen to other Orcon customers...
John
