Hi team,

Just wondering if anyone else is having iSky problems with an Orcon connection?  When I load up the site and a stream, the stream loads and plays for about 2-3 seconds then the rotating arrow comes up.  The stream may or may not resume a couple of minutes later, but is completely un-watchable.

I initially thought it might be a load problem (due to the Olympics), but the site loads and runs fine over my SGS3 in hot spot mode.  I managed to watch around 3 hours of Olympics last night via this method, but its destroying my data cap :).

I have called the Orcon Helpdesk and they don't have any reported issues with the site and said I should contact Sky direct.  AFAIK the service is actually hosted in Orcon's CDN (don't know exactly the ins and outs) so am surprised the service isn't running seamlessly via them.

Potentially other pertinent information - We are on a Genius connection, 14118/1020 sync speed in Wellington Central.

Can you please confirm a few things?
What DNS servers are you using?
What channel were you having issues with? I assume it was Prime but i would like to be sure.

I am in Auckland and watched the prime stream from 8:00 PM right through to 12:30 and saw no issues with it at all, that doesnt mean your issue isnt real of course.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply..  I have tried the Orcon DNS servers/google DNS and Telecom and none of them seem to make a difference.

It seems to be affecting all channels. I can confirm I have tried Sky Sport 1, 2 and Prime.

Can you please let me know what IP address you get for this address from your computer on DSL when using the orcon DNS servers?
fs-e30c7f0000000000.id.velocix.com

Seems odd that you would have issues, no other problems with any other sites?

Can you please also see if you can stream from the following:

http://www.ecasttv.co.nz/channel_detail.php?program_id=&channel_id=112

Let me know if that shows the say issue.

No problem with the stream on the site.

Ping test return 60.234.60.196, average time 31ms.

By the way, I'm about to head out so there is no rush with this.  I want to get it sorted, but have a weekend mate :)

Mine resolves to the same IP as well... I get a nice burst when first connected, but lasts no more than 10sec.
